Ted Yu-Chia Chang, ASA, passed away on May 2, 2010, in a tragic automobile accident in Taipei, Taiwan. He was 37.
Chang received a bachelor’s degree in Applied Maths from the Tatung Institute of Technology in Taiwan and a master’s degree in actuarial science from the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Connecticut. His first job as actuarial consultant was with Massachusetts Life Insurance Company in the United States from 2000 to 2003. Chang later returned to Taiwan and worked for Shin Kong Life Insurance Company and ACE Life Insurance Company. He was a professional in programming, USGAAP and NZIFRS. He was employed with Cigna TW at the time of his death.
Colleagues expressed they have lost a very dear friend and the world has lost a caring brother, a son, a boyfriend and a good person. His untimely departure left his family and friends with much pain and disbelief. Many memorials have been held by his friends to remember such a wonderful person.
